Pluto-ma Nesia 10

         10. The Voyage

        _10. U Viagia

A little before dawn, the boatswain sounded his pipe and the crew began to man the capstan-bars.
_Un ergo-pe cefa pa akti soni per sibila-ru mikro tem pre fotoproto. Un ergo-pe grega pa tena plu baci de navi fixa-ru leva-me.

"Now, Barbecue, tip us a stave," cried one voice.
_Mo voka dice forti, "Kuko-pe, sti kanta."

Said Long John, who was standing by, with his crutch under his arm, and at once broke out in the air and words I knew so well:
_Alti Jon; qi pa habe proxi kon auxi-baci infra skapa, e sti minus atende u kanta; de qi mi este sura memo:

"Fifteen men on the dead man's chest--"
        _"Mo-penta epi teka de morta-an - "

And then the whole crew bore chorus:--
_Po-co un holo grega dice kanta mero:

"Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!"
        _"Jo-ho-ho e botilia ko rum!"

And at the third "Ho!" drove the bars before them with a will.
_Kron "Ho" tri, mu pa moti ante plu baci ante mu ko forti tende.

Soon the anchor was short up... soon the sails began to draw, and the land and shipping to flit by on either side...
_U fixa-ru pa es a supra po brevi tem. Plu veli pa gene ple per venti. U tera e plu navi pa feno ki lo bi latu.

Alti Jon... To me he was unweariedly kind, and always glad to see me in the galley, which he kept as clean as a new pin... his parrot in a cage in one corner.
Alti Jon pa habe minus-fatiga liberali a mi, e alegro panto-kron de vide mi lo kuko-ka; an tena forti puri, kon avi psitaki in mo gono.

"I calls my parrot Cap'n Flint, after the famous
buccaneer..."
_An dice, "Mi dona nomina Navi-Cefa Flint a psitaki, pro famo mari klepto-pe."

And the parrot would say, with great rapidity, "Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!"
_Plus-co u psitaki dice per forti tako, "Aureo valuta! Aureo valuta! Aureo valuta!"

There was never a ship's company so spoiled... and always a barrel of apples standing broached in the waist for anyone to help himself that had a fancy.
_Id pa es tali libe navi-pe grega nuli-kron. Id pa es kilindra ko plu pomi panto-kron lo meso de navi pro pe; qi volu gene mo a se.

It occurred to me that I should like an apple.
_Mi pa este u certa di; mi volu mo pomi.

In I got bodily into the apple barrel, and found there was scarce an apple left... I had either fallen asleep or was on the point of doing so when a heavy man sat down with rather a clash close by. The man began to speak. It was Silver's voice...
